Sarwar Jahan (born 1962) is the founder of Southern University, Bangladesh.
Sarwar Jahan was born in the Feni District of Bangladesh in 1962, and settled in Chittagong district.He is second son of late Haji Mostafizur Rahman, who was the renowned social worker in the Feni District. Jahan graduated in MIS from the American University in 1986, and got his Master's degree in management in 1992. In 1994, he founded the non-profit AJ Foundation for educational development in Bangladesh, and in 1998 he co-founded the Institute of Management & Information Technology (IMIT). Other schools he founded include the Southern University, Bangladesh in 1998, and in 2007 he founded the Southern University Press, the Southern International School & College, and the Southern University Legal Advice Center, Norail Polytechnic Institute, Isakhan International University.
He went to USA in the year of 1982 lived and worked in the USA for fourteen years; pursuing a career as an academician, researcher and consultant focusing on the education, information technology and human resource development related sectors.
Since 2003, Mr.Jahan is the treasurer & vice-president at Southern University, Bangladesh, as well as the secretary general at the Southern University Foundation since 2005.
